Our beloved Professor Marcum died tragically two years ago. For this year's tribute, the Kogod Accounting Club Executive Board and the Making a Difference is Our Business program are having a service day in her honor at the AU Campus Kitchen. As part of the larger Campus Kitchens Project, this opportunity will allow participants to "recycle food from their cafeterias and area grocery stores and restaurants, turn these donations into nourishing meals, and deliver those meals to those who need it most."

The annual Leukemia & Lymphona Society's Light the Night Walk takes place at the Freedom Plaza in Washington, DC. Thousands of participants raise funds for awareness and research of blood cancers. The walk is a beautiful opportunity as many participants carry illuminated balloons to "bring light to the dark world of cancer."

The "Making a Difference is Our Business" program provides the opportunity for graduate students to work together on service projects several times throughout the year. September's project will be to help improve the community on Saturday, September 29 from 7 am to 5 pm at the Congress Heights Recreation Center is SE DC!
